To earn your respective CEU for the IASTM examination Course


If you would like to earn CEUs for your home study course purchased, you must take an online examination for the respective 
IASTM home study course purchased. YOU MUST EMAIL PTCS WHEN YOU ARE READY TO TAKE THE IASTM EXAM.

PTCS requires the student to take a 30 multiple-choice examination, that lasts 60 minutes. Which tests the readers' comprehension of the material studied for the respective home study course. A score of 75% or better is required to pass. PTCS will immediately send via email your CEU certificate for your records.

  • Steps to taking an online examination for one respective course or for taking the comprehensive five home study course examination:
    1. Please contact PTCS via email at ptcg1999@verizon.net, when you are interested in taking the respective examination that pertains to the course that you purchased. 2. PTCS will invite you (via an email) to appear in the test for which the course you have purchased. 3. You will need to follow the instruction and click on to the“Click here” link / “Test link”. 4. You will need to fill & submit all the required fields of registration form. Fields are like; First Name, Last Name, Username, Password, Country & Timezone. Note: Please make a note of the username and password. You will need this information to login and take the examination. 5. System will take you to the Dashboard of PTCS online examination. 6. You will find the purchased course test in your dashboard. Which has been assigned by PTCS (via inviting you through an email). 7. You will need to start your assigned test by clicking on to the “Take test now” link. 8. “Take test now” link will take you to the page which provide you test information and disclaimers. 9. You will need to click “Start Now” button to start your test. 10.Your test will get started, you can view questions and possible answers on test window along with the Next, Previous & Finish button. 11.Finish button will activate on the last question of your tests, you will need to mark answers for all the questions to finish your test. 12. After finishing the test, you can view your score in“My report” section. 13.Once you have completed the examination, PTCS will automatically receive your exam results. 14.Once PTCS receives your score, we will email you with your results and/or CEU certificate within 24-72 hrs respectively.
  • If you fail your assigned test:
    1.You can contact PTCS via email at ptcg1999@verizon.net, PTCS will charge you for allowing a re-test of the failed attempted test. 2.PTCS will invite you (via an email) to appear in the re-test of failed attempted test which you have purchased. 3.You will need to follow the instruction and click on to the “Click here” link / “Test link”. 4.You will need to enter your “Username” and “Password” for login to your account. 5. System will take you to the Dashboard of PTCS online examination. 6.You will find the purchased re-take of unit test in your dashboard. Which has been assigned by PTCS (via inviting you through an email). 7.You will need to start your assigned test by clicking on to the “Take test now” link. 8.“Take test now” link will take you to the page which provide you test information and disclaimers. 9.You will need to click “Start Now” button to start your test. 10.Your test will get started, you can view questions and possible answers on test window along with the Next, Previous & Finish button. 11.Finish button will activate on the last question of your tests, you will need to mark answers for all the questions to finish your test. 12.After finishing the test, you can view your score in “My report” section. 13.Once you have completed the examination, PTCS will automatically receive your exam results
  • If you are going to retest, you must do the following: "
    1. Email PTCS that you are interested in retesting after receiving feedback. 2. PTCS strongly urges you to consult with Chris Gellert, PT, MMusc & Sportsphysio, MPT, CSCS, C-IASTM and review areas that you think you have concern, as well as understanding your strengths and weaknesses. 3. The process or steps to retake an examination is just like the initial time as described above. 4. Any additional questions, concerns, please direct them to PTCS through email at ptcg1999@verizon.net and in the subject header write “examination assistance.” Additional help is available in the form of tutoring, however, the amount of help, time that PTCS can provide, depends on several factors. PTCS will discuss these factors with each student and take it on a case by case basis.
  • Examination Information, to earn your respective CEU:"
    If you would like to earn CEUs for your home study course purchased, you must take an online examination for the respective home study course purchased or take a comprehensive 125 multiple-choice question examination, that covers all five home study courses. Please follow the steps below which clarifies accordingly. PTCS has created six examinations, which includes one comprehensive examination(tests all five course material) and five seperate examinations for each of our home study courses. Each examination tests your comprehension of the material covered for the respective course or on all five courses respectively. No outside material is included in the examinations accordingly. Each home study course requires the student to take a 30 multiple-choice examination, that lasts 60 minutes. Which tests the readers comprehension of the material studied for the respective home study course. A score of 75% or better is required to pass. PTCS will immediately send via email your CEU certificate for your records. For those who want to become certified as an advanced training specialist(ATS), you must complete all five units and take a 125 multiple-choice comprehensive examination in a three-hour window, and earn a score of 75% or better. Policies and Procedures/Common questions pertaining to the examinations: 1-Preparing for the comprehensive five home study examination to earn the ATS credential PTCS recommends that you have thoroughly read all material that pertains to the unit as well as study workbook. Each unit examination again is testing your comprehension of that material that you studied. For the five home study comprehensive examination, PTCS recommends that you study 3 months. The examination will possess a heavy emphasis on you having a solid understanding of functional anatomy, biomechanics, biomechanics of movement, periodization training and common dysfunctions of orthopedic, neuromuscular, and special population conditions, and understanding training and programming that is safe and effective based on science and research. 2-What is a passing score? A score of 75% or better is required for a single unit examination or for the comprehensive five-unit examination. 3-How long before I hear my results? As soon as PTCS receives the results, we will notify you by email. Therefore, it is important that you provide PTCS with both your email and phone contact information accordingly. 4-How much time do I have with each examination? Each examination is comprised of 30 questions and you have 60 minutes to complete the examination. The comprehensive five home study examination consists of 125 multiple-choice questions, in which you have three hours to complete the entire examination accordingly. You can take the examination at any time you wish. 5-I purchased more than one unit, can I take both examinations at the same time? No. If you purchased two different courses, you must register a first time, complete the whole registration process, complete the first examination, then repeat the process again at a different time to take the second examination. 6-What happens if I don’t pass? If you do not pass on the first time, PTCS will contact you providing results on how you scored. It is important to learn about your strengths as well as weaknesses. You do have the option to retest, however, will need to pay a retesting fee. The cost for taking a unit examination retake is $50.00, whereas retaking the comprehensive five unit examination cost is also $50.00 respectively. ​ Oral and Practical Examination Information PTCS will provide a live person. PTCS requires you to obtain a history, thoroughly functionally assess them, and then explain your findings. Based on your findings, the PTCS examiner, will ask you relevant questions that pertain to exercise prescription, programming and periodization training.
  • Case study examination:
    PTCS will provide you with three case studies. Each case study is either of a past patient or someone similar. The case study will describe the client, including their past medical history, exercise history, surgeries, medication taking, and any other relevant information, including personal goals. PTCS will ask the following: Define the anatomical and functional anatomy involved. Biomechanically describe what is going on at the specific joint when asked. Describe the pathophysiology of the dysfunction the client has(ie. Degenerative disc disease) Defend one functional assessment you would perform and state why Name three static and dynamic core exercises suitable for the patient Define a sample workout(microcycle) for this client, including sets, reps, exercise selection and most importantly defend why. Explain one contraindicated exercise and precautionary exercise base on science, physics or research, not opinion.
